ODE TO TEHRAN
Oh Tehran, you remind me of heaven.
Your colors are white, blue, and green, the
colors of water, nature, and cleanness
You are as big as the Pacific Ocean and as clean
and bright as the sky.
Oh Tehran, sometimes you are sad, I can see that
from the rain and
Some times, you are happy; I can see that from
the bright sun which is all over the sky.
I can feel when you are mad, from the sound of
the winds hitting the walls and you make me feel
the same way.
Oh Tehran, I like the way you are
I like the colors you have and I like the sounds
you make
It makes me feel good. it's the way you feel too.
Why is that everyone come to visit you?
Do they like your colors?
Do they like the way you talk to them with the
sounds?

I was touched by this poem when
Khashaiar's father Dr.
Khosrow Sobhe shared it with me. Khosrow is blessed
by God with two fine sons. I know how I feel and how I
fare when I go to Tehran so I am amazed at how well the
Sobhe family does here in the US.
May God Bless them and keep them and let His Face shine
upon them all the days of their lives.
