£ 1,320 or aproximately $2508 on the auction
date. Hossien is one of the seven Seirafian
brothers. His rugs did not receive the critical
aclaim of his brothers Mohammed, Sadegh, or
Ahmad. The awakward configutration of the two
lower birds neck is a traditional expression of
this genre and dates back for hundreds of years.

SIGNED ESFAHAN HOSSIEN SEIRAFIAN, CIRCA 1960
The ivory field with a flowering vase flanked by
blossoming trees with perching birds, the indigo
spandrels with leafy vine, in an indigo scrolling
acanthus leaf and palmette border between
ice-blue split-palmette and flowerhead stripes, a
plain brick-red outer stripe, overall excellent
condition
