RARE ANTIQUE PERSIAN KURDISH RUNNER, Quchan Area,
Northern Khurasan Province, last quarter of the
19th century, and in excellent collector
condition. Size: 4'-0" x 9'-9" (122 x
297 cm). A very rare interpretation of the
"mina-khani" design for the Quchan
Kurds taken from the neighboring Qara'i Baluch of
Khurasan. The color palette is all 100% natural
vegetal-dervived dye lots including deeply
saturated indigo blues and a most lovely shade of
green. This runner comes in a great state of
preservation with evenly low (but not worn) pile.
Both of the end finishes retain the original
striped kelims and the side cords are original
and intact. Ready for immediate home decor use,
this beautiful antique Kurd runner has just been
professionally cleaned to museum standards and
lies flat and straight on the floor. A GREAT find
for the tribal, nomadic, or Kurdish rug collector
specialist. Email Michael Phillips at phillipsrugs@comcast.net
