Sanjabi is a dialect of Southern Kurdish. The other dialects: Kolyai, Kermanshahi (Kermanshani), Kalhori, Garrusi (Bijari) Sanjabi, Malekshahi (Maleksh ay), Bayray, Kordali, Feyli, and Luri.

There are about 1 million Sanjabi sheep in Iran. Today they are primarily raised as meat today. They are found in in the Kermanshah area. They are a fattail sheep well suited to low rainfall areas as found in Kermanshah.
