Rugs the O'Connell Notes

"In addition to these well-known Iranian Kurdish rugs,
there is a wide variety of other Kurdish tribal weavings, from the far
north down the mountains to Kermanshah. Near Kermanshah the small pile
bags of the Jaf and Sanjabi tribes dominate." Kurdish
Carpet and Kelim
Sanjabi is a dialect of Southern
Kurdish. The other dialects: Kolyai, Kermanshahi (Kermanshani),
Kalhori, Garrusi (Bijari) Sanjabi, Malekshahi (Maleksh ay), Bayray,
Kordali, Feyli, and Luri.

Sanjabi Ram
There are about 1 million Sanjabi
sheep in Iran. Today they are primarily raised as meat today. They are
found in in the Kermanshah area. They are a fattail sheep well suited
to low rainfall areas as found in Kermanshah.
