Bird Foot Border
If I recall correctly the first time I heard the term "Birds Foot Border" was from a Virginia lawyer named Wendorf. I think he moved off to the hinterland and I lost track of him. I have no idea if the weaver ever had a birds foot in mind but the name works. Not also the offset knots that are easy to see in the brown that outlines the medallion.

From Ambassador Eagleton:

In addition to these well-known Iranian Kurdish rugs, there is a wide variety of other Kurdish tribal weavings, from the far north down the mountains to Kermanshah. Near Kermanshah the small pile bags of the Jaf and Sanjabi tribes dominate. Kurdish Carpet and Kelim

Jaf Kurd weavers use two rows of wefts between each row of knots
We sometimes see bags woven with but a single weft between each row of knots. I am still not sure who weaves them but the Kolyai Kurds are a possibility.
