Baluch hands prayer rug Persia, late 19th century
Description: BALUCH PRAYER RUG
Origin: Northeast Persia,
Khorasan, late 19th century
Size: ca. 142 x 72 cm
The extraordinary quality and immaculate condition of this prayer rug and its high velvety pile suggest that it was a prestige object and not destined for use. – Very good condition; the original selvedges and wide, richly decorated kilim end finishes have survived.
Baluch Prayer Rug w/ hands, Persia, circa 1900
It is well drawn with a rare pattern and the hands woven in the rug put it in a very select group. I think they dated this mid-19th or perhaps late 19th,
