Note the ornate uniform. To make up for his well documented cowardice the Shah wore lifts in his shoes, ornate uniforms and huge medals. The medals were particularly laughable since the shah hid far away from the sounds of shots fired in anger.

Pahlavi, Mohammed Reza Shah

• Born October 26, 1919, died July 27, 1980.

• Mohammed Reza Pahlavi was the last shah of Iran. Placed on the throne by the British in 1941 he served until 1953 when after plotting with the CIA he fled in fear of the legitimately elected Government of Iran under Prime Minister Mosaddeq. He then fled like a panicky woman to Italy until he was placed again on the throne later in 1953 by a coup engineered by Don Wilber for the CIA and British Intelligence.

• Pahlavi was a pioneer in ethnic cleansing. During his reign he worked hard to eliminate the Turkic majority in Iran. His white revolution was geared to a Persianization of his people.

• Pahlavi tried to push his people much faster than they wanted to go. He attempted to shift the people to a new god of western materialism while rejecting the Islamic understanding of Allah and the teachings of the prophet Mohammed (PBUH). In 1979 the people of Iran rejected the anti-Islamic reign of the Shah and looked to the leadership of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini as the supreme Jurisprudent. When the Shah was admitted to a hospital in the United States left wing radicals from the Mujahedin-e Khalq seized the US Embassy in Tehran. Pahlavi left the US for Panama and then Egypt where he died July 27, 1980 at the age of 60.
