The Ex-wife: Dr. Clare Wolfowitz Dr. Clare Wolfowitz was formerly married to Paul Wolfowitz. They have three children. Dr. Clare Wolfowitz lives in Checy Chase. CLARE WOLFOWITZ Chevy Chase, Maryland CLARE WOLFOWITZ, Staff Associate (Ph.D. in Social Anthropology Johns Hopkins University; MS London School of Economics; BA Cornell University) Dr. Wolfowitz works with the Governance Institutions Group, primarily on its projects in Indonesia and with the Programs and Policy Coordination office of USAID. She also performs research, writing, and editing for other IRIS projects as needed. She edited IRISs recently published Market Augmenting Governance, and worked closely with the Indonesia and Outreach teams on the IRIS-USAID CD-ROM on Strengthening Regional University Capacity in Indonesia. Before coming to IRIS, Dr. Wolfowitz taught courses in sociolinguistics and social change at the John Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, the Johns Hopkins School of Continuing Education, and Georgetown University School of Languages and Linguistics. Language Style and Social Space, a study of the Javanese use of polite speech styles, was published in 1991. Wolfowitz Clare Wolfowitz helps manage the Indonesia projects for the Democracy, Governance and Regulation Team. Before coming to IRIS, she taught courses at the John Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, the Johns Hopkins School of Continuing Education, and Georgetown University of Languages and Linguistics. Language Style and Social Space, a study of the Javanese use of polite speech styles, was published in 1991. She is currently writing another book on Indonesian culture and preparing a chapter for a book on the languages of Suriname. Dr. Wolfowitz participates in many civic activities during her free time, including serving as Vice President of the Board of Trustees of Deep Springs College, as Founder and Coordinator of the Sarah Thompson Memorial Scholarships at Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School, as a member of the Human Relations Committee at Bethesda Chevy Chase High School, as Vice President of the Board of Directors of the IN Series of Performing Arts and as a founder of the Indonesian Foundation for Cranio-Facial Surgery.
