green gloves, and bicorn hat with cocarde, a blue
silk sash across his chest, the saddlecoth
gold-embroidered with imperial eagles and
monograms, French cavalry and artillery and
British infantry in the background, a body of
water with sailing ships and steamboat in the
distance against a mountain range and erupting
volcano, a Persian inscription above.
