- Khan Uzbek ruled from 1312 to 1342 as
Khan of the Golden Horde. Reigned from
Saray Berke on the Upper Volga. Converted
to Islam and prompted a mass conversion
of his men to Islam. This created an
"Uzbek" people of Islamisized
Mongols.
