Kyrgyz, and also Kirghiz, Kara-Kirgiz, or
Kirgiz
The Kirghiz are Western Turks of the
Aralo-Caspian group. The Kyrgyz are primarily in
Kyrgyzstan but are also found in Afghanistan,
China, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkey, and
Uzbekistan. They are closely related to the
Karakalpak of Uzbekistan, the Kazakh of
Kazakhstan and the Nogai of the Northern
Caucasus, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan. They divide
into two main groups; the Northern Kirghiz,
Southern Kirghiz.
