Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was appointed Mayor of Iran in early 2004. Popular with the Ultra-Conservative minority in Iran but he is also popular as Mayor of Tehran with the people. To make a point he has doned the garb of a street sweeper and led the work in the streets.
