The Majma-e Rowhaniyoun-e Mobarez (Militant
Clerics League or Militant Clerics Society) is
one of the leading "Liberal" party in
Iran. The Militant Clerics
Society supports the basic concept of velayat-e
faqih or government by the senior Islamic (Shia)
jurist. How then the society is ordered is the
issue with the Militant Clerics Society
supporting a more liberal and "modern"
vision of that society.
The Secretary-general is former Majlis speaker
Mehdi Karrubi. The founding board members were
Mahdi Karrubi, Seyed Aliakbar Mohtashami, Seyed
Mohamadali Abtahi, Abdolvahed Mussavi-Lari, Majid
Ansari, Assadollah Bayat, Seyed
Mohammad Khatami , Rasul Montajabnia, Sadeq
Khalkhali-Givi, Seyed Mahmoud Doaei, Seyed
Mohamadreza Tavassoli. 02\07\1989
