It was great to see Steven Sabol again at Mark Keshishian and Sons. Dr. Sabol besides being a rug collector and reader of my humble work is also a noted medical reseacher. He is best known for his research in Molecular Pathways of Apoptosis.

Dr. Sabol had recently bought this rug on top of the stack at a Sloans & Kenyon auction. He had a question about it and Harold graciously invited him to bring it in. It is from the Shiraz area and is similar to the newer Gabbehs being produced by the Qashqai. But it was not Qahqai. It was much closer to a Khamseh rug as if they were making Gabbehs.
